Library
The central library is one of the oldest and biggest libraries in the university area. It has maintained an ever growing collection of reference books, periodicals, journals, encyclopaedias, the CDROM collection, the Internet facility and the Xerox facility. 1. Collection: -The College library started functioning in June 1940 with a initial collection 2825 books. At present we have 64686 books worth Rs.21, 25,359/-. We subscribe to 45 periodicals having the total annual subscription of Rs.19, 249/-
.

Social Volume information 5. News clippings 6. Library Bulletin of books added 7. Internet Facility 8. Special Work: - Prize Distribution function is the most prestigious function of our Institution. The work of compilation and preparation of Prize Distribution list of all faculties is done by the Library. 9. Visit of Eminent Personalities to the Library: - 1. Shri. 10. Binding:- We have well equipped binding section with 23 useful tools including cutting & binding press machine. Binding of all books & special volumes of Periodicals is done in house. There are 946 bound special volumes. 11.Rare Books:- a) 16 volumes of Arabian Nights in original., b) Set of Chandrakanta of Devakinandan Khatri in 24 Vols. c) Imperial Gazettes of India in 26 volumes d) Harvard Classics; a set of 50 volumes e) Encyclopaedia of Britannica (1877 Ed.) in 24 Volumes 12.Preservation & Conservation:- The Trophies and Shields which are won permanently by our college are registered and displayed in Library Hall. Sets of rare books are kept in red cloth to protect them from light and dust. 13. Automation: - a) Three Computer system with LAN facility b) CDS/ISIS system acquired from UNESCO at subsidised rate c) 13 CD ROMs d) 01 Video Cassette 14. Future Plans: - a) Online catalogue for Library users b) To become a member of INFLIBNET to have access of on line information of resources of other member library.
