Gents Hostel :

Gents Hostel :

Gents hostel was built on the area of approximately four acres in the year 1944. It is one of the oldest and reputed hostels in the jurisdiction of the Solapur University, Solapur. Accommodation is available for 350 students.

Hostel has total 133 rooms, accommodating students as shown below: 

A separate block of family accommodation for three wardens.

Students are admitted to the hostel on the basis of merit and as per the reservation rules and regulations. Minimum hostel fees are charged taking into consideration the rural economy of the area.

• Prayer Hall:

A prayer hall is constructed to accommodate 350 students at a time. Students of the hostel perform prayers and havan daily in the morning. One assistant warden looks after the havan and prayers. The same hall is used as recreation hall in the remaining time. A TV set is provided for the entertainment of the students.

Guest Rooms: Two: For Guests, examiners etc.

• Retiring Room: One for peons
• Sanitary Blocks: Two

Hostel Sanitary blocks for students.

Drinking water: Separate drinking water connection for hostel and other departments. A separate drinking water tank for additional supply.

• Water supply to sanitary blocks: Two Bore Wells with electric pumps.
• Garden : A beautiful garden is developed inside the hostel campus on an area of approximately 1½ acre. Trees, bushes, roses, other flowering plants and lawn are maintained in the garden. The hostel is connected by tar road.

• Staff: Six attendants look after cleaning of rooms, premises, watering of garden etc. One night watchman looks after the security of the hostel during the nighttime. One scavenger maintains cleanliness in the sanitary blocks.

Ladies hostel:

A separate ladies hostel is built to accommodate 60 girls. Family accommodation is provided to the warden.
