Vadagbalkar Preface Over the past six decades the college has served a national cause of higher education of the people in the Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and the neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It is one of the oldest and renowned educational institutions. In the beginning the college was affiliated to Bombay University. However, with the establishment of Poona University, it came under its jurisdiction then it was affiliated to Shivaji University till 2004 since its inception. Presently it is affiliated to Solapur University, Solapur. The college has always excelled in academic, sports and cultural activities. A number of students have secured meritorious position in various university and civil services examinations, sports and cultural events. Under the leadership of highly inspired dedicated and visionary Principals the college has produced renowned scholars, academicians, administrators, social workers, creative artists, scientists, authors, journalists, businessmen and politicians. The Principal and the Staff are committed to their academic, social and economic development. Through NSS and NCC the spirit of nationality and social commitment is inculcated to prepare them for social and defence services. It is through the continuous efforts of the Principal and staffs; a number of our alumni have occupied leading positions in various fields in India and abroad as well. The college library is one of the biggest and oldest libraries in the University area. It maintains a growing collection of reference books, periodicals, journals, encyclopaedias, the Internet facility, a Xerox facility and the CD ROM collection for students, teachers, scholars and experts in arts, science and social services. The computer laboratory of the college with its Internet connectivity has been of immense use for the academic and the administrative staff. The library and laboratory resources, and the infrastructure facilities are shared with the Primary and the Secondary school, Commerce, Law and Education Colleges of the Management.

ARYA YUVAK SAMAJ The Arya Yuvak Samaj has been holding morning and evening prayers, Havan and Weekly Satsang in the Boys Hostel. The Samaj conducts Dhrama Shiksha, Yogasan and Pranayam classes. The Dharma Shiksha examination is conducted by the Samaj. Every year students secure First and Second Ranks in the Annual Akhil Bharatiya Dharma Shiksha Examination. The successful candidates are awarded cash prizes and a special trophy by Arya Vidya Sabha of D.A.V. Managing Committee, New Delhi. Shri S.A. Burbure guides the students.

Library remains open from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days. From 1st December onwards the reading room will be kept open from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. Books are issued to the students for use at home. Sets of books as per U.G.C. Book Bank Scheme are issued to deserving students on merit basis for use at home during the academic year. The College students always show their extra-ordinary performance in sports by winning Zonal Championship and by acquiring 1st positions in Inter University, Inter State and National Competitions. Some of our sportsmen and sportswomen have participated in International Sports Competitions also. Boys: The admission for NCC starts from second week of July. It is compulsory for the cadets to attend camps to appear for B & C certificate examinations. The College strongly believes in the development of social commitment among the students for which it offers the facility of N.S.S. The N.S.S. unit has an enrolment capacity of 100 volunteers. The college provides Hostel accommodation for 350 boys & 50 girls purely on the basis of Merit. Students seeking admission for hostel have to apply separately.
